| Biography: |
The lone true senior on this team, Barnes is the engine that
makes the team surge (or struggle). Previously in his Stanford
career, debates have raged whether to cultivate and use him at
the point guard or shooting guard, but that point is moot this
year. With the injury to Chris
Hernandez, Barnes now is the point guard for this
team and will have to log heavy minutes this season.
He can score in bunches from the perimeter, and also slash to
the basket with his unmatched explosive quickness. But with the
added burden of running Stanford's complex offense, an open
question all year will remain - can he score at his peak
capability while setting up his teammates efficiently and
effectively? Can he shoot for points and percentages and
hold a high assist-to-turnover ratio?
