It was a week to the day that Lobo football Coach
Mike Locksley was suspended for 10 days and DB coach and Assistant Head
Coach George
Barlow was elevated to head coach status.
Definitely
a situation that is unique, now football is
football according to every coach I’ve spoken with, but being the head
coach
comes extra duties that you may or may not have signed up for i.e.
suspensions,
rumors of players leaving, discipline, paying attention to both sides
of the
ball, and the unexciting task of dealing with the media.
Interim Coach George Barlow has handled it all really well
the self-proclaimed “laid back guy” has taken it all in stride.
Here
are the two question and answers… The first is Coach
Barlow talking to the video media and the second is Coach speaking to
the
written and radio medi

Here are a couple quick nuggets if you don’t have
time to
listen:
We are going to sit back and see what we are doing
well on both sides of the ball.
For the
most part we are going to stick with who we are playing with.
For the most part I can do what I need to do, I'm leaving it to the
coordinators to do what hey need to do.
Locks put together a good system and we are going to work within that
system. We
are going to stick to his plan
We (Locks and Barlow) are comfortable together so he gave me a little
bit of
communication this weekend.
I've had butterflies since they said I was head coach, but I went out
to
recruit and starting feeling better as I got into my comfort zone.
Everyone had a chance to go home and come back refreshed. Demond is a
little
nicked up so he and Bubba we will take it a slow. Holbrook is available
It hurts us not having Ty Kirk because he was one of the guys that was
getting
better every week.
He (Coach Locks) is a guy that learns from mistakes. This will help him
down
the road
talk about it in
our message board
