The day's guests were a family with two young boys that have Muscular Dystrophy. At one point Coach Mendenhall himself could be seen spending one-on-one time with one of the young boys - this one bound to a wheelchair - and even appeared to be racing or running alongside the boy at one point.
Sophomore Harvey Unga also took extra time to spend with the family. In fact, he was one of the last players on the team to leave the family before moving on to other matters. When asked about that particular "Thursday's Heroes" program, the big, bruising running back couldn't help but smile.
In this edition of Cougar Conversations, Unga talks about "Thursday's Heroes," how playing for BYU has impacted him, and how things are going with some positions of interest on the offense.
