One of the best defensive players on BYU's 2003 football team was true freshman David Nixon. Back from his two-year Mormon mission, Nixon is eager to get back on the field. Nixon will be a welcome addition to a linebacking corps that graduates two starters.

"I got back a week ago," David Nixon said. "I haven't even got a chance to talk to the coaches yet. But I did talk to [Academic Advisor] Jim Hamblin and he said the coaches are excited to have me back." Nixon left for his mission to Ecuador at 6'3" and 225 pounds; he came back at 6'3", 200.
