Cameron Jensen "Days Away" from Making Commitment Premium Story

Elder Cameron Jensen, home less than a week from a two-year LDS Church mission, has been busy tripping around the country to Oklahoma, Arizona, California and now Utah in search of a college home for the next 3-4 years.

Minus the “elder” moniker, Jensen, a highly coveted 6-2, 228-pound linebacker recruit who played one year at Rick’s College before his mission. Rick’s is now BYU-Idaho and the school has dropped their collegiate sports programs.

In an interview with TotalBlueSports.com, Jensen said: “I’ve been to the University of Oklahoma, Arizona, UCLA, Utah and now BYU.”

All five schools are pressuring him for a binding commitment that could take effect immediately – depending on their offers.

“I have to decide here pretty soon. It’s tough because I haven’t been home long, but I’ll probably decide in the next couple of days on which scholarship to accept.”

Jensen’s most recent trip was to BYU where he said he was impressed with the campus and facilities. “I like BYU and it’s certainly a school that I’m considering at this point. I like the campus and the atmosphere.”

Although Jensen is days away from his decision, he declined to tip his hand.

“I’m pretty much open right now. I’m going to give it a lot of thought today and in the coming week and will decide,” he said, adding: “I like all the schools that have offered me and they all have what I want in the college that I attend.”

Jensen was not highly sought after out of high school and opted to play for Rick’s one season and then leave for his LDS mission.

“I had an offer from Utah State, but that was about it with the D-1 schools. I sent a lot of major universities footage of me playing right before I left on my mission and now I have offers from five major Universities.”

“I’m just going to think about it, talk it over with my family and go with whatever feels right. I really couldn’t say what school that might be at this point, but I’ll know soon enough.”
