Mama lands two huge offers this week

OL Damien Mama

There isn't a hotter prospect out West right now than Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco offensive lineman Damien Mama. The talented guard prospect picked up his latest two offers from the two teams who battled for a National Championship a year ago.

Damien Mama played tackle opposite USC signee Nico Falah last season but probably projects best as a guard in college. He's a big, physical kid with great strength and just the right amount of nastiness.

Mama has double digit scholarship offers and none bigger than the two he landed this week.

"Alabama offered on Monday and then Notre Dame offered Wednesday," Mama said. "I'm very excited about both of these, they're great programs. Alabama had been sending a lot of mail so I knew they were interested but the offer was still surprising. I'm planning to get out there in early April for a visit.

"When the offer from Notre Dame came, that was pretty amazing too. Like with Bama, they had been sending a lot of mail and seemed very interested. What can you say about Notre Dame, it's a great school with incredible tradition, both athletically and academically. I want to try and visit there in the spring if I can but if not, I'll for sure do an official visit."

Mama said USC is the one school he's still waiting on to offer after attending the Trojans Junior Day a few weeks back.

"I like USC but it's not like I would commit there or anywhere else right when they offered," Mama said. "I'm planning to go through the process here and I want to take all my trips. Right now, I'm taking everything in and just really enjoying how things are going. I never expected all this to happen so fast so that's why I'm taking my time with it and in no rush to commit anywhere."
