Twelve players from the Grand Canyon State that deserve D1/D1AA offers
Tre Grant
- QB - Peoria Centennial
Why offer? The kid has had a great senior season. Mobile QBs are in now and Grant is more then that, he can make the throws.
Why he doesn't have one? QBs and offers are a whole different ball game. Schools offer the top tier kids first and wait for them to commit, then they jump to the next level.
Jordin Hamilton
- WR/DB - Scottsdale Chaparral
Why? The kid is a flatout ball player.
Why not? Lacks elite size and speed.
Drake Pierre
- WR - Mesa Red Mountain
Why? Has emerged as one of the state's top WRs, has been lights out. Plus he has above a 4.0 GPA.
Why not? No one knew who he was until the eary part of the year, film is just now circulating.
Colin Marquez
- OT - Mesa Red Mountain
Why? The kid is a legit 6-5 250+, has a motor and a frame.
Why not? He will go on a church mission following his senior year, not all schools will recruit players that do this.
Seth Manzanares
- TE/OLB - Phoenix Goldwater
Why? Can play either side of the ball. Good student with big frame.
Why not? He is a tweener on offense, is he a TE or WR? Goldwater isn't a hot spot for D1 recruiters but those who have seen him have him on their radar.
Fa'asauga Tinoisamoa
- DT - Dysart
Why? Active d-lineman that can run and uses hands well.
Why not? Doesn't have the greatest size. When is the last D1 kid that came out of Dysart?
Dominic Nappe
- DT - Chandler
Why? Love his motor; kid gets after it. Has thrown nearly 60 feet in the shotput, explosive!
Why not? Doesn't have great size. Is a shade above 6-0.
Parker Zellers
- DE - Scottsdale Notre Dame Prep
Why? Has had a tremendous senior year. Very active. Good student.
Why not? Is he a DE? Will he be big enough to be a DT?
Anthony Hovorka
- S - Mesa Desert Ridge
Why? One of the hardest hitting safeties in the state.
Why not? Doesn't have the greatest size.
Myles Spearman
- S - Surprise Valley Vista
Why? Above a 3.5 GPA, is very active and tackles well in the open field.
Why not? Doesn't have elite size or speed.
Travonn White
- DB/WR - Phoenix Mt. Pointe
Why? He is one of the state's best athletes, period. Runs sub 11 seconds int he 100 meters and jumped 24-10 in the long jump.
Why not? Will he play football? Has big time track offers.
Brendan Turelli
- LS - Phoenix Arcadia
Why? Was just named to play in the Under Armour All-America Game.
Why not? Teams must have a need at long snapper, their recruitment could go all the way to a few days before camp.
