The sophomore defensive lineman has offers from BYU, Texas A&M, Kansas State, Oregon State, Pitt, Kansas, Purdue, Tennessee, Iowa State, Washington State, South Florida, San Jose State and New Mexico State.
Delva is currently preparing for his final season at the junior college level.
"I'm getting ready for the football season to start up here soon. I'm just getting ready and have been lifting for fall camp that starts here soon on August 9th," Delva said. "Our season starts September 1st and that's when we play our first game."
Not long ago, Delva flew out to the state of Utah for an unofficial visit to BYU and enjoyed the the visit. He has also had some recent contact with the staff.
"I spoke to BYU two weeks ago. I spoke to Coach Kaufusi," said Delva. "He was checking up on me and told me to keep doing what I'm doing."
A 2013 prospect with three years to play two, Delva is a very attractive prospect for the Cougars simply because they'll lose six senior defensive linemen following this year.
"BYU wants me up there really bad and that's something they talked to me about," said the three-star defensive recruit. "We talked about how I would have a great chance to play early and possibly start up there whenever I sign."
As of right now, BYU is the only college that Delva has made an unofficial visit to.
"Yeah, BYU is appealing to me and they're pretty up there right now," Delva said. "I have them pretty high on my list."
Given BYU's situation next year, that bodes well for the Cougars. Delva doesn't, however, have plans to visit a BYU practice during fall camp since he'll be right in the thick of his own fall camp at Antelope Valley. Meanwhile, the midyear transfer isn't looking to make a final decision on where he wants to play just yet.
"I'll probably make my decision after the season," Delva said who is simply taking it slow. "I think that's probably what I'll do. I just want to focus on my last season out here and then wrap things up with a final decision when it's all over with."
