Pine View High School deep snapper Kolton Donovan is considered one of the best in the country. While he had previously committed to BYU, on Monday he announced that he will play football at Southern Utah.

According to Kohl’s Kicking and Snapping, 6-foot-3-inch, 250-pound Kolton Donovan is considered a five-star recruit when it comes to ranking long snappers.

He claims offers from BYU, Stanford, Utah State, Cornell, Dixie State and Southern Utah.

Donovan said he was also offered walk-on spots from Utah, Boise State, UNLV and Montana State.

On Monday, however, he announced that he will attend Southern Utah.

“I have given a verbal commitment to play football for Southern Utah University,” Donovan said. “They offered me a scholarship after an unofficial visit in April of last year and I gave them my verbal commitment on October 17th, 2011. [On] December 5th, 2011, I solidified my verbal commitment to Southern Utah University during an in-home visit. I will be taking the official visit this Friday-Saturday.”
